Reiko was born in Japan and likes to be called, “Princess Reiko,” by her friends. When Reiko first started coming to Santa Barbara Art Works, she never thought she could draw or paint. But since then, she has learned a lot about the principles and elements of design, including color theory, proportion, perspective, and value contrast. She has also learned a valuable tool for creating art such as starting with a grid system.

 

Reiko enjoys painting with watercolor and acrylics. She says she is inspired by her art instructors because of the encouragement they offer.
